FAQs
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Yes! For clients in Los Angeles, I'm currently available on Mondays and Tuesdays for in-person sessions at my office in Larchmont Village.
This central location is convenient to Hancock Park, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Mid-Wilshire, Beverly Hills, Beverly Grove, the Fairfax District, Koreatown, Silver Lake, Los Feliz, and Echo Park. There is ample street and metered parking in the area.
I also continue to use a secure platform for virtual sessions, and meet with clients living throughout California and New Mexico.
Do you accept insurance?
I'm an out-of-network therapist, meaning I don't directly accept insurance. Before starting therapy I recommend contacting your insurance company to inquire about your mental health coverage, as deductibles and reimbursement rates vary depending on the type of plan you have.
Some questions to consider asking your insurance company to better understand your benefits:
Does my health insurance plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?
Do I have a deductible? If yes, what is it and have I met it yet?
Once I have met my deductible, what can I expect to be reimbursed for out-of-network sessions?
If you have out-of-network benefits and choose to use them, I can provide you with a superbill (a receipt) to submit to your insurance company. Any partial reimbursement of the session fee is sent directly to you.
What is your session fee?
$220 / 50 minute individual therapy
$250 / 50 minute couples therapy
$280 / 50 minute family therapy
I also offer prorated 75 or 90 minute sessions. Please ask me about this option if you’re interested in meeting for a longer period of time.
Do you have a sliding scale?
I value accessibility and reserve a portion of my practice for clients in need of a reduced fee based on their financial circumstances. Our consultation call will provide us with an opportunity to discuss session fees.
How often should we meet?
I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis and find this frequency to be especially beneficial when beginning therapy. This type of consistency provides you with a regular space to process thoughts and feelings that come up in between sessions, gives us the opportunity to build trust and safety in the relationship, and helps with maintaining momentum. After making noticeable progress, some clients find that meeting biweekly is their preferred frequency. I also offer twice weekly sessions for those looking to meet more regularly.
How long will I be in therapy?
Therapy can be either short or long term, depending on your personal goals and what your needs are. Some clients feel better after briefly working together, while others attend therapy for an extended period of time, finding they benefit from having a regular space for exploration. We’ll regularly talk about your progress to make sure you’re getting the most of out of our sessions.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I understand things come up. If you’re unable to make it to a session, I ask for at least 24 hours notice. If your appointment is not cancelled or rescheduled within this time frame you'll be responsible for the session fee.
